In the lavish halls of King Belshazzar’s palace, a grand banquet unfolded, marked by an air of revelry and excess. The king, amidst his lords and entertainers, indulged in wine and decreed for the sacred vessels from the Jerusalem temple to be brought forth. As they drank from these holy relics, they praised their lifeless idols, oblivious to the sacrilege they committed. Amidst the boisterous celebration, a startling omen emerged.

In a realm beyond time, the Lord GOD looked upon His scattered flock with compassion. He declared His resolve to tend His sheep, promising to rescue them from the darkness that had dispersed them. With a shepherd’s heart, He sought out the lost, mended the injured, and healed the sick. His voice echoed through the valleys, “I will shepherd you rightly.” Yet, for those who were sleek and strong, disregarding the weak, His justice was firm, as He vowed to judge between sheep, between rams and goats.
